Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I should begin therapy
Many people seek therapy when they’re ready for change but feel stuck, despite their best efforts. Change—even when deeply desired—can be challenging and complex. When we struggle to create it, our sense of freedom can feel limited, leading to frustration, anxiety, or regret.
In our work together, we’ll explore what’s bringing you in with curiosity and compassion. Through a collaborative and creative process, we’ll notice patterns, gain perspective, and zoom in and out on the experiences shaping your life.
How does psychotherapy work?
Psychotherapy is a relational process—two people coming together, each bringing unique knowledge and experience to the conversation. Together, we’ll identify your goals and work toward them through insight, self-awareness, and practical strategies.
Our sessions will be interactive and guided by what’s most meaningful for you. I’ll draw from my training and experience to offer observations and recommendations as we find the best path forward.
How long will I be in therapy?
The length of therapy varies and can always be discussed. Some people feel relief sooner than expected, while others choose to continue as they explore deeper layers of their experience.
Research consistently shows that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important factors in positive outcomes. Above all, I want you to feel safe, supported, and understood throughout our work together.
What is an MFT?
Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) are licensed mental health professionals trained to work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. We address emotional, mental, and relational challenges from a systemic perspective—considering how your relationships and environment shape your experience.
